Warrants

A warrant is a financial product that grants its holder the right, but not the obligation, to purchase or sell securities (usually equity) from the issuer at a specific price on or before a given date. After this expiration date has passed, the holder's right ceases to exist. To purchase a warrant, a holder pays a premium that is far lower than the underlying price of the security itself.
